Shia’s Arrested Development

                                                 

Shia LeBoeuf—star of Transformers and the soon-to-be-released fourth installment of Indiana Jones, comes from a long line of rebels. So, it is little surprise to find that he was arrested in Chicago for refusing to leave a Walgreens, after a security guard accused him of being drunk.

When LaBoeuf refused to vacate the store, the guard called the police, who arrested the actor. After being taken into custody, police described Shia as “very courteous and polite”. His bond was posted shortly.

Without knowing any of the details, I cannot comment. But judging by the defiant and totally photogenic booking photo taken of Shia smiling, I have to say that is the most clear-headed “drunk” I’ve ever seen.

                                            

Even with glassy eyes, I, for one, don’t think he was intoxicated (albeit under the influence). But Shia knows how to hold his liquor and he is painfully aware of his limits. Something tells me this was a total rush to judgment that will lead to a dismissal of LeBeouf’s first—and hopefully last— arrest. Stay tuned.
